Kathryn R. Engel, JD, MBA
Kathryn R. Engel is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in collaborative family practice, conflict resolution, mediation and litigation, as well as, transactional negotiation if and when ownership in a business is involved. Kathryn has helped hundreds of clients bring the often contentious experience of divorce to collaborative and satisfactory conclusion, avoiding the much higher costs of expensive court settlements. She is committed to the alternative dispute resolution and believes that family matters can and should be resolved outside of the courtroom, whenever possible.
Kathryn is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and Capital University Law & Graduate School in Columbus, Ohio. She received her Mediation certification from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago and her Collaborative Law certification through the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois.
With strong ties to her community, Kathryn currently serves on the Zoning Board of the Village of Hinsdale. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Kira Spedale Foundation and as a Holy Trinity Parish Service Minister at the local Nursing Homes and Rehabilitation centers. Kathryn has previously served as a Downers Grove Park District Commissioner and an Officio Commissioner on the Village Human Services Commission. She is a member in good standing of the DuPage County Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, Fellow, Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and Member International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
